The festival challenges our sense of place through art exhibitions, displays and demonstrations inspired by the seasons and the natural world.

We are delighted to welcome Clare Smith as the festival’s 2017 artist-in-residence.  Clare’s practice involves pattern, chance and process, often using strategies such as cutting, tearing, gluing and stitching. Prevalent elements relate to trade, materials, craft and objects. Clare works with drawing, print media and installation to investigate the tensions between identities and traditions informed by her Chinese/English heritage. She has a playful, experimental and physical approach to generating work, which is combined with a reflective process in its development.
